Description

Bring the atmosphere of a traditional German beer garden into your home with the charming Hönes “Zenzi” Black Forest Cuckoo Clock.

This beautifully crafted chalet-style cuckoo clock is full of movement and character. The highlight of the scene is Zenzi, the waitress, who moves forward to bring fresh beer to the guests, while two beer drinkers move with their mugs.

At the same time, the water wheel turns and four dancing figures rotate above the clock face while the music plays, bringing the entire beer garden scene to life.

Inside the clock is an original Regula mechanical 1-day movement, manufactured in the Black Forest. The clock is wound once per day. The cuckoo calls every full hour and once on the half hour.

A manual night shut-off allows the cuckoo call and music to be switched off whenever desired.

Traditional details including the wooden dial, wooden numbers and wooden hands complete the authentic Black Forest appearance.

Manufactured by Hönes in the Black Forest, Germany, this model carries the VdS Certificate of Authenticity, confirming it as an original Black Forest cuckoo clock.

With its combination of music, moving figures and the cheerful German beer garden scene, the “Zenzi” is a wonderful choice for anyone who loves traditional German craftsmanship and mechanical cuckoo clocks.

From our family shop to your home

We are a family‑run clockshop operating since 1973. For three generations we’ve worked with local carvers and movement makers to handpick and commission clocks that honor traditional designs while meeting modern expectations for shipping and service. When you purchase from us, you are buying a piece of family heritage and a relationship: we personally assist with set‑up, maintenance advice and repairs.

Add a tagline

How it works — choosing the right movement

Which movement is right for you?

1‑Day Mechanical: Traditional, authentic cuckoo — requires daily winding; loud, charming cuckoo call.

8‑Day Mechanical: Wind once a week; ideal if you prefer less frequent maintenance while keeping true mechanical character.

Quartz: Battery‑operated, minimal maintenance, quieter cuckoo — perfect for bedrooms or small apartments.

How to choose: If you want the most authentic experience and plan to care for a clock, choose mechanical. If you prefer low maintenance, choose quartz. Unsure? Contact our family experts for a free 10‑minute consultation.

Safe, insured worldwide delivery

How we protect your heirloom. We ship every clock in custom‑made wooden crates with shock‑absorbing foam, double‑sealed boxes, and clear “fragile” labeling. Each shipment is insured to its full declared value and tracked door‑to‑door. For high‑value orders we send staged photos of your specific clock inside the crate before dispatch.

Why our clocks are an investment, not an expense

A true Black Forest cuckoo clock is a piece of mechanical craftsmanship designed to last generations. Our clocks combine certified German movements, hand‑carved wood, and family inspection — components you don’t get from mass imports.

Included with every purchase:

  • VdS certificate for qualifying models
  • Reinforced crate + insured shipping
  • Free lifetime phone & email setup support from our specialists
  • Option for repairs via approved service stations worldwide

Compare: a mass‑produced decorative clock may cost less now, but it will not retain value or repairability decades from now.

No. We include clear instructions and free lifetime phone/email support. For mechanical clocks, basic winding and setting take 5–10 minutes to learn. Short video tutorials are available and we’ll step you through live.

Mechanical cuckoos are louder with rich acoustic character; quartz models are quieter. Many models include an automatic night shut‑off lever — check each product page. If noise is a concern, we recommend an 8‑day mechanical with night shut‑off or a quartz model.
