Beer steins

All our steins are uniquely handcrafted in Germany, using centuries-old techniques of expert sculpting and traditional clay craftsmanship. Each piece is shaped and decorated by skilled artisans who continue this historic European artform.

In the early 1500s, German regulations required food and drink containers to be covered for hygiene reasons — this led to the creation of the now iconic “stein mug” with its hinged lid and thumb lift. Made from high-quality German clay and formed by experienced craftsmen, every stein we offer allows you to carry on a genuine piece of European tradition.

Our steins are handcrafted and hand-painted by master stein makers and stein painters in Germany. Their craftsmanship is certified by our trusted manufacturers located in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Westerwald, a region world-renowned for its clay artistry.

German beer steins — also known as “steins” or traditional German beer mugs — have been part of European beer culture for centuries. Our collection includes authentic German beer steins handmade in the Westerwald, the region internationally known for high-quality stoneware and clay craftsmanship.

Every stein we offer is 100% made in Germany and produced using traditional stoneware techniques, hand-sculpted detailing, and hand-painted finishes. Many models feature German pewter lids, thumb lifts, and authentic historical designs inspired by German folklore, breweries, and regional traditions.

The Westerwald region, home to Germany’s most famous clay deposits, has been producing premium stoneware beer mugs since medieval times.
